{"id":2414,"date":"2022-11-16T19:24:11","date_gmt":"2022-11-16T19:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cedehm.org.mx\/en\/?p=2414"},"modified":"2022-11-16T19:24:11","modified_gmt":"2022-11-16T19:24:11","slug":"10-years-after-the-unpunished-murder-of-ismael-solorio-and-manuela-solis-leaders-of-barzon-chihuahua-we-seek-justice-in-spite-of-persecution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cedehm.org.mx\/en\/2022\/11\/16\/10-years-after-the-unpunished-murder-of-ismael-solorio-and-manuela-solis-leaders-of-barzon-chihuahua-we-seek-justice-in-spite-of-persecution\/","title":{"rendered":"10 years after the unpunished murder of Ismael Solorio and Manuela Sol\u00eds, leaders of Barz\u00f3n Chihuahua, we seek justice in spite of persecution"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" src=\"https:\/\/cedehm.org.mx\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Barzonistas1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2415\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10 years have passed since the unpunished murder of Ismael Solorio and Manuela Sol\u00eds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The \u201cMag Silver\u201d mining company continues to harass and attack ejido members, with the support of the Chihuahua State Government.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We call for the intervention of the Federal Government to resolve the underlying problem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ejido Benito Ju\u00e1rez, municipality of Buenaventura, Chih., October 22, 2022.-<\/strong>&nbsp;Today marks the 10th anniversary of the cowardly and still unpunished murder of Ismael Solorio and Manuela Sol\u00eds, who in their last months of life led a fight against the overexploitation of water in the R\u00edo del Carmen Hydrological Basin, as well as against the installation of the \u201cEl Cascabel\u201d mine, belonging to Canadian mining company \u201cMag Silver\u201d in the Benito Ju\u00e1rez Ejido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exactly 10 years ago, the couple of defenders of water and the environment, were murdered while traveling on the highway from Ciudad Cuauht\u00e9moc to \u00c1lvaro Obreg\u00f3n, in the state of Chihuahua, just a few days after having met with the Secretary General of the Government asking for protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, like so many others, we have come together to demand justice, but now we are doing while being persecuted, as the administration led by Mar\u00eda Eugenia Campos&nbsp;
