Camargo, Chih., March 20, 2022. Families in search of their disappeared loved ones continue their journey through various municipalities of the state of Chihuahua. Their goal is to get a hearing with the authorities of the Chihuahua State Government, specifically with the State Attorney General and the Secretary General, who have not made any attempts to approach the families or issued a statement in the two days since the march started.
The march that began last Friday, March 18, started in the city of Hidalgo del Parral and reached Valle de Allende and Jiménez, where the families spent the night to continue on Saturday, March 19 towards Camargo, where the third day will start today, Sunday March 20th, at around 10:00 a.m.. Demonstrators will start making their way to Cruz, Conchos, Saucillo and Delicias to continue on Monday to the city of Chihuahua, after holding an event in Meoqui.
The mothers and families that make up the contingent walk into the cities holding pictures of the disappeared, which has created solidarity and empathy among those they come across.
The group of family members, accompanied by the Center for Women’s Human Rights (CEDEHM) is made up of more than 600 people who seek a specific date to meet with State Attorney General Roberto Fierro, and with César Jauregui, Secretary General of the Government. Meetings have been requested with both officials since the end of last year, but to date, none has been scheduled.
